wheel speed sensor?

Was driving from Texas to Colorado. About half way through New Mexico I hit a rabbit with both left tires. It's the only thing I could think of that made contact with the vehicle. Not long after that my ABS light came on and stayed on. I can stop the truck and restart it and the light will go off. Drive it about a hundred feet and the light would come back on. Stopped at a dealer in Colorado and was told it was probably a wheel speed sensor. Would this sound about right? It was hard to believe that just hitting a little rabbit would break something like that. There is no fading in the breaks, fluid resivoir is full, and there are no leaks that I can see.

Let us know what you find out, I can't believe a rabbit broke your truck but I guess stranger things have happened.

On a car I owned I had a similar problem. It happened when I got caught in a severe thunderstorm and the front wheels were submerged over the hubs, It actually ruined a wheel bearing too. It shouldnt be a horribly expensive repair.
