The pocket flares provide 2" of tire coverage. If you go any smaller than that, you won't get the coverage you need.

good point, so i went out and did some crank tests, with a 2" strip of metal at the base of the fender to see what would happen- at full crank left and right i will clear the fender flare by an inch, no problem-
BUT if i go to aftermarket rims that stick out , then we're going to have major rubbing until I lift the truck

id personally put some of those mini mudflap things to assist wtih rock spray, the flares arent going to help you at all wtih that. i have 16x10 on 4.5 BS, i encounter no issues in the front wtih rock spray / various debris offroad; TX150 helped me claybar my truck this past weekend and he'll attest to how my paint is looking behind the front fender compared to the rear

with TX150's fabtech kit and increased track width his front tires are at approximate width with the flares and his rear tires are barely tucked behind the flares

I'm going to buck the trend here and give it a thumbs down... never been much on the look of those but, it's just an opinion.

i dunno-mud flaps don't really work up here unless you go like semi-style- going thru 2' of snow in the morning to get to school, or to work from the house is a regular occurance in the winter-so the stylish ones get ripped- or at -40F in bozeman they simply snap off- rock wise in the summer, my scars are all about 4-6" lower than the door handle- they get thrown upwards by the tires, then the forward progress catches them against the side of the truck--- the rocks get lodged in the grooves, and when the centrifugal force is greatest they launch...music to my ears. i wish someone would have the flares in stock, so i could like hold them up to my truck and really check things out rather than dropping 400 on speculation.
