Red Light on Dash Stayed ON???

I went on a fairly short trip out of town to pick up a motor for my car Saturday (450HP 383 SBC) and when I went to leave I noticed the red light on the dash was on and stayed on (the little red light that flashes when the truck is locked up). I stopped and switched the truck off and re-cranked it and it went off.
Has anyone else had this happen or know what caused it???

(BTW it was on solid...not flashing)

That happened to me once too. After making it to my destination and restarting it went back to blinking. Has not done it since.

Mine does it from time to time as well. Just haven't got around to figuring out why yet.

If you turn your key forward to acc, and don't start it, the little red light will stay solid, this is the first of one of the steps to enter the key programing mode. Did you by chance have the key turned upward?

All the times that this has happened to me, it's with the truck running, not with the key in accessory.

I was just curious what the conditions were, other then that I have no ideas why it would stay on, especially while it was running.

Maybe it was just because you were hauling Chevy iron.
