I towed a 93 chevrolet s10 about 6 hours fron orlando to savannah. Not one problem the whole way going 70.

remember,i am not talking towing, i am talking payload.....i just mentioned what i have done including the towing tongue weight.....now i just needed to feel you guys out on actually maybe hauling a ton in the bed of the truck.
and that is 2000 lbs. thanks for all the input so far.

well, just got back from putting the 25' travel trailer in storage from a nice weeklong outing.....decided to go get the wood pellets. this place had about 300 plus tons instock. they aren't looking to run out this year! i went inside and paid, and the guy loaded the pallet onto the truck. i cut down a few rows so it wouldn't be top heavy but i took all of it. i had about 2" left of travel before it hit the stop. i took a measurement of the rear fender and tire and it sat about 5". normal difference with no load is around 9" or so. so the rear dropped about 4" total. took my time and took back roads to get home. was only 13 miles from home. it did ride real nice with the weight though! LOL
