Here's an auction at Ebay for a ss hunter grill guard. They sell black ones too and the Phone number is right there in the ad.

Here's a pic. See the tow hooks?

Thanks Stealth for the info...I looked at the black one and couldnt tell if the hooks were there or not but its quite clear on the SS one that the hooks remain.

Id really like to know how the quality of these Hunter ones are. The seller does a great job at marketing these things. I like the Manik ones alot but they are twice the price. I definately live by the saying that you get what you pay for.

Never heard of Hunter. I don't see any auctions up on EBAY. Just remember, you get what you pay for. Pay $200 for a guard when all others are $400-600, then you're most likely getting a piece of ****. You need to make sure the one you do end up getting fits our specific body style F150.

Tow hooks stay on with the manik.

GSP (genuine steel products) is the brand 4 wheel parts sells and the gsp grill guard is identical to the manik at a lesser price. Try looking there. I think it cost liike $360 or something.

Now the million dollar question........

Can you mount a winch on the front with any of those brush guards. Not rigged to the brush guard, but actually mounted on the frame either directly with a mount or with a front hitch receiver while keeping the tow hooks?

I'm interested in any set up you have that isn't a Warn Trans4mer.......

Don't have any pics but my gaurd came from JC Whitney for 200 bucks and IS a Westin. Wasn't advertised or marked as Westin but i have put it side by side with 2 other Westin Sportsman series grille gaurds in town (that my buddies payed a lot more for) and its IDENTICAL in every way.

Oh yeah, my tow hooks are still there....

ive got a WAAG grille guard- keeps the factory hooks-
as for the winch question, not sure i understand- warn makes the hidden winch that mounts in your lower valence opening--granted you dont live in a front plate state...

My question is a mounting question.

The question refers to trying to find a grille guard and a winch mount that both attach to the frame......these often mount on the same points on the frame. I have yet to see a pic for an 04-06 F150 that has both a winch and a grille guard attach to the frame with the exception of the warn trans4mer. I'd be very interested in other set ups as the trans4mer lacks in the look department and is very expensive in my opinion. Don't wan't a "bumper" mounted guard......needs to be something that attaches to the frame/tow hooks.

As for the front liscence plate, hidden hitch/drawtite/reese make a front plate holder that fits into a 2" reciever, so thats not a problem.

Thanks in advance for all of your help.

I think they are the best for the money......and if state inspection is a problem with anything in fornt of the head lights, the grilles can be removed for inspection... I just had to do that on mind for it to pass..
