I am getting ready to install OEM power windows in the front and rear of my 2005 STX supercab and I am going with the 7 switch BMW Style switch kit I was wondering how I would be able to get express up/down on these??? I have heard about the viper 530T module, how does that work?? How much wiring is involved?? Will it work with all 4 windows?? I am getting ready to get a compustar alarm put in next month, will this module affect that?? are there any other ways besides that??

 

I dont know it the alarm you are going with will support the 530T or not, but it might. To answer your question about the 530T, it will work with 4 windows in one direction only or 2 windows in both directions. I have on but haven't installed it yet.

This seems to be the standard mantra lately but do a search. Chrisadams did this conversion a while back and started a thread with all the info you'll need. Look up Chrisadams in the members list, click his name and then search through all he's posted to find it.

 

I've done that. That is where I learned of the 530T, I wanted to know if I could still use that if I wanted to install an aftermarket alarm w/power locks

 

Short answer is yes.

Longer answer is yes, but you may have to add a relay. Or not.
The modules like the 530t have a 'ground pulse' input wire that any aftermarket alarm can trigger. This has nothing to do with the express up and down part. The alarm sends a ground signal down one or more wires. You hook that wire to the ground signal in wire on the 530T and when you trigger the alarm, it triggers the windows up.

Aside from that feature, which you don't have to use, the module has no idea what, if any' alarm you wire in.

So the 530T will work with virtually any alarm, any brand, or with just a keyless, or with a simple ground switch.
That is for it's all windows up feature.

The express feature works without any alarm, keyless, etc.
