audiophile subwoofer enclosure

Does anyone know where you can buy a stock audiophile subwoofer enclosure? I have already wired my truck for the amplifier and built my own custom box (sounded like crap so I took it out). I have been in a truck that has the stock audiophile system and they sound awsome so I would like to find one.

2 places to look.

1. the classifeds on the site and
2. ebay

I would say you are going to have better luck with ebay.

Be advised that most subs probably won't fit in the factory sub box without some modifications. The mounting depth is something only 3.5 inches or so.

Has anyone opened up this enclosure yet? Is it possible to mount a second one? I really like the current setup w/a single 8" but could always go for a little more.

I'm not much on Pioneer subs, but i've been looking at a TS-SW841D 8" I think it may fit in a factory box.. only needs 2 1/2 inches, .13 to .50 space sealed.. recommended for .33 ... my problem is the 120w RMS rating, I'm wondering if its under rated.. I'm running 175w RMS

I rewired my factory sub to 4 ohms (can be done, stock is DVC 2 ohms) added binding posts and powered it with a Eclipse EA2000 bridged at 175w... sounds good, but would sound better with a better quailty sub....

Ya that is really what I was hoping to find is one for sale that already has the subwoofer and all but just didn't know the right place to look. I have searched everywhere but it doesn't look like anyone just sells the oem sub box. I guess I will just have to hope someone wants to get rid of their box out of their truck

Man I tried to build a box but it ended up sounding like crap and I kept blowing my subs because the box was so small. I have the new kenwood excelon subs and they are monsters so I don't think that the box that I built had enough air space and I blew two subs before I decided to say the hell with my home built box.

Subwoofer boxes

Hey Dan, I build custom boxes every day, it is my job. Send me a PM of what woofer(s) you are planning to install and I can design an enclosure for your truck. I usually design 4th order vented enclosures because they are twice as loud as a sealed box when PROPERLY TUNED. Prefabs suck no matter who makes them.

4th order under the rear seat of an F150...I don't think so.

I was thinking the same thing....lol Now, if you're gonna just ditch the rear seat that's gonna be a whole new ball game.

Last one I did was 2 CF3 10's in a console. subs were downfire/single port. there is no room under or behind those seats.
