Both are high quality oils. You can't go wrong with either. Mobil 1 is a little cheaper and much easier to find, so thats what I use.

Same as you and the average driver doesn't need anything else

I use Mobil 1 5W-30 in the F150, Royal Purple 10w-40 in my boat, and Pennzoil Platinum Full Synthetic 5W-30 in the wife's Taurus.

No problems or advantages noticed with any of them so far. I may switch to the Pennzoil Platinum in all of them.

Oh, and I'm averaging 17.5 MPG (Calculated over the last 5 full tanks of gas, 90% highway driving) in the F150, so if not using the 5W-20 is hurting my milage, so be it. My truck is still happy!

Wow Maxima, never really see many people using that brand. Have used that in all my ATV's for the past ten or so years and never really gave it any thought to use it in the truck.

How long have you used it, and where do you get it? The only place I usally get it is through one of my mail order companys for ATV's.

Mobile One, easy to find and moderatly priced. I never tested Roayl Purple, though people seam to like it well enough.

Both oils are good. I have used both. I feel the royal purple is a bit better. It just sounds a bit quieter when I am at idol and when reving up the engine into the 4000s. It all depends on what you are willing to spend. I also use a filtermag on my oil filter. Another good brand I have used prior to my F150 was Redline. I have also heard good things about amsoil.

I am running Royal Purple and am getting around 19mpg-19.5mpg highway on 37" tires. I am running a very low gear ratio as well but everything adds up (e-fans, Royal Purple, exhaust, intake, XCal2, removed rear catalytic convertors, etc).

I was using mobil 1, but switched to Pennzoil Platinum in my truck and my wife's honda accord. The oil stays clean for a long time. I can't tell any difference between the pennzoil platinum and mobil 1. Pennzoil is a little cheaper at Wal mart.
