question on diff

i just painted my rear diff with a black anti-rust paint and it just dawned on me rear diffs get hot!.. i was wondering if painting it might cause a fire hazzard or cause it to get to hot thanks!

It will NEVER get hot enough to cause a fire, or even hurt the paint at all for that matter. If the rear dif were to get that hot, it would have to be ran dry till it locked up!

Thanks! yea mine was gettin a lil fugly from the surface rust and road dirt.. now its all glossy and looks good but like i said i wanted to make sure it wasnt a danger... i was fairly sure but hey you cant be to carefull
