Recipe for 96 octane gas for Whipple 2 7/8" pulley .

My new Whipple 2 7/8" pulley will require a minimum of 95 octane gas, Couldn't find any gas station selling race fuel around my area then i decided to make my own fuel. Here is the recipe:

1) 27 gallons of Sunoco 93
2) 3 gallons of Xylene by Sherwin-Williams
3) 1.5 oz of Marvel Mistery Oil.

4) Result: 96 octane gas.

Good info here:http://www.team.net/sol/tech/octane_b.html

Philadelphia is a big city but very few reliable performance shops, and the ones i know do not sell race gas.

rafa26 how much is Xylene in your area? The cheapest I can get it around here is $9-10 a gallon.I used to use it in my turbocharged cars but with a stronger mixture for more than 96 octane. Now I'm into alky injection.More Boost

What you have to do is go to a Sherwin Williams store and open a cash basis account, make sure you tell them you will need around 30-50 gallons per month even if you don't need all of that. They will qualify your account to get the cheapest price which is $7,00 per gallon if you buy 5 gallon cans.

So when all said and done how much are you paying a gallon? I would like to make 93 octane because these bastards in california don't offer and everyone on 93 was breaking into the 6's (0-60) on a mere tune.

$7,00 a gallon. ( requires you to open a cash basis account with any Sherwin Williams store because regular price is $12,00 ).
