Brake controler

Has anyone installed the trailer brake controler on their F-150. I need to install on on mine and just wanted to know where you put it and how hard it was to wire up. I have the tow package from the factory, 4 and 7 prong connections. Need to get it in before the weekend. Any help please.

Should be easy to hook up. Your truck should have a small package in the glove box or somewhere that has a fuse and a wiring harness. There are instructions included with it that are pretty easy to follow.

1. Splice your brake controller into the factory harness (if needed)
2. Plug it up
3. Install the fuse under the hook.

Simple as that.

As far as locations to put it. Someplace that is easily within reach. Also someplace where you won't kick it around.

The connector is right above the gas pedal. Where you put the controler depends on your interior and personal preference. Some want it up under the dash, only option if you have the full console. Personally since I don't have the full center console and am short legged and need all the knee room I can get when I get the seat forward ( No power pedals on this truck ) I put mine on the front of the console with the edge peeking up from the front. Keeps it down out of the way, but have the manual override handy if I have a bad load and the trailer starts to fish tail going down hill, just reach over and apply only the trailer brakes .

There is a metal plate on the lower left side of the dash. Fits perfect there.

Anyone have any photos of where you mounted yours? I have a Prodigy in a box at home... it's going on soon -- definitely before I tow my 78' Bronco home.
