If the root failure was caused by the Edge, yes, your warranty claim can be denied.

Everything is legal if you don't get caught.

Before you take the truck to the dealer just simply return settings back to stock and take out the unit. The dealer should never know if you do those things...

Not me, but my friends truck had to be towed to the shop because of a "no start" issue.

Fixed under warranty.

From the Edge operating instructions:

While as a consumer you have strong legal protection regarding your vehicle’s warranty, there is also a practical reality that different automotive manufacturers and dealers have greatly varying views on aftermarket products, in particular those that produce horsepower, such as performance enhancement chips, modified intake manifolds, or aftermarket exhaust systems. There are dealers and manufacturers out there that will use the presence of a horsepower upgrade to void your vehicle’s warranty. They will do this regardless of whose product you are using. Any aftermarket company that does not acknowledge this is misleading you.

The bottom line is that while the law protects the consumer and provides for enforcement of the warranty, it is very difficult for most people to hire an attorney and fight a voided warranty. Edge recommends that you always disconnect and/or remove any performance device or programmer before you take your vehicle to a dealer for any service, in order not to interfere with Diagnostic equipment.

Pardon my French, but what a damn joke.

The manufacturer encouraging you to lie about any modifications you may have done to your truck to require warranty service as not to "interfere with Diagnostic equipment".

And everybody wants to bitch about warranty work and the price they ultimately pay for things.

If you're going to modify your truck, at least have the ***** to own up to it and quit trying to stick people for something you may have screwed up with an aftermarket accessory.

Stepping off my soapbox now.

Sounds like it to me.

I think edge is meaning the cord will need to be disconnected from the obd2 port since the programmer would be utilizing it. Doesn't seem like lying to me.

As a matter of fact, yes I am....

Doesn't change my opinion though.

That sort of thing directly effects my family's bottom line when it comes down to it.

It's the same thing as telling people to remove their lift and 37's before they take it in for warranty work after melting a transmission or exploding a rearend.

Edge recommends that you always disconnect and/or remove any performance device or programmer before you take your vehicle to a dealer for any service
And remove / or remove...... sounds like remove to me.

If you mod it, at least be truthful about what may have caused a problem and be prepaired for the consequences. Looks like that sort of thing is in short supply anymore.

Thats the problem though. I can understand what you're saying in a sense but come on now. How many times do you think someone has been denied a warranty claim because they had a <insert mod here>? Im sure its a lot, probally just as many times as a customer has screwed over an automotive company for warranty work. Do you see where Im going with this?
