the dealer is really saying that the rotors are too thin, or would be after turning. There is a min thickness spec stamped on the rotors. Most vehicles these days come with OEM rotors that are barely over the min thickness from the beginning, after some wear and trying to turn them easily makes them too thin. Try the aftermarket rotors, I don't have suggestions on brands but have had good luck on several vehicles before.
