my 2004 150 xlt has 41000 miles and the dealer tells me they can not turn the rotors because of the type installed from the factory and I need to buy new rotors at 280 each. I have owned many ford trucks, but have never heard this one before. Anyone else?
the dealer is really saying that the rotors are too thin, or would be after turning. There is a min thickness spec stamped on the rotors. Most vehicles these days come with OEM rotors that are barely over the min thickness from the beginning, after some wear and trying to turn them easily makes them too thin. Try the aftermarket rotors, I don't have suggestions on brands but have had good luck on several vehicles before.
