Thumbs down I bought a Lemon and the Dealership is no help!

I have a 2006 Crewcab STX auto 4x4.

After getting no were with the local dealer, I sent this to Ford Via E-mail.

I bought my truck not to long ago and I have a fair amount of problems with it. I had some minor problems at the begainning, which the dealership I bought from took care of. Then I moved to Cordova, TN and started to have more problems with my truck.

My odometer would go out at start up and sometimes after restarting the truck to restore the display I would notice a electroninc smell. Then I was having troubles engaging 4 Low per the manual, the tranfer case would grind none stop when I engaged it and I would have to turn off the truck to get back into 2 HI. Then I had my parnets in my truck and when I pulled onto the HWY., Every time I accelarrated to reach 70MPH I had a louder than normal droning and lost of power around the 45MPH shift point.

I decide it is time to take into the local dealership durning the day "Dobbs Ford of Memphis". I told "Tech A" about the problems and all he did was grind my 4 Low and rev my engine and then tell me that the truck is working fine. When he exits my truck a fellow co-worker ask him what was all the grinding about that came from my truck. He told the co-worker that I had 4 wheel drive and that was normal. "Tech A" told me that I could leave it at the dealership and have a service worker look at it. I then asked if he had a loaner or a rental for me and he said we dont do that here. So with no way home, I told him I would be back later at a better time for me then. As I was leaving he said that he would have a loaner for me next week ever after he told me 10 mins. ago that they dont have loaners or rentals.

2 weeks later, now my brakes go out (padle all the way to the floor)while driving. I drive driectly to Dobbs, to only have "Tech B" tell me that their local car rental is closed (which Tech A above claimed that they didnt have) I told Tech B how was I going to get home then! He said come back tomorrow with my truck as he has no way for me to get home unles I drove my own truck. Before I left I had him witnes that my brakes went to the floor and document it.

So I bring my truck back the following day, which my brakes are almost back to normal now to have tell me since I dont have a premium warrenty I would have to pay for my rental. I told them I have never heard of this. They told me to wait in the waiting room for my rental. 20 min they page me and tell me that they didnt see any of previous problems including my brake problem. Even that "Tech B" witnes it last night. I tryed talking to "Tech B" about signing by the entering had made saying that my brakes were bad and he said he already talked to "Tech A" about it and he wasnt going to sign. Then he procced to walk away from me when I was talking to him and he said that went throught this last night already. So basicly they told me there was nogthing worng with my truck.

Sorry I just had to blow off some steam.

call up ford customer service directly and discuss the problem with a higher authority- they'll make sure things get taken care of... good luck- sounds like you've got a heck of a dealer- any others you can take your truck to?
next time they say the brake issue is normal, ask them for their names to put in the negligence lawsuit when your brakes fail and you fly thru an intersection and t-bone a minivan...

I got all their names I just removed them for posting. I even asked them if I get in crash beacause of my bad breaks, then whos fault would it be then? They told me it would be my fault becuase I decided to drive my truck with posible bad breaks.

I hoped you spelled checked that before you sent it.

I am not trying to be a *** but if I worked for Ford and had enough clout to make a differance in your truck situation I would have deleted your message after 10 seconds of reading it.

Truck

If he spelled a couple of words wrong why would you just delete his e-mail that he sent you telling you about the product he bought from your company. That in it self could set the company up for a law-suit. A customer telling the auto maker that there is a problem with his brakes and some other stuff with his truck and you just delete the message like it didn't happen. Maybe that's why our trucks never get anything fixed. If my trucks brakes went out and a mechanic looked at it and saw that that was a problem that night before my truck would have never left the dealership. The dealership would have to find a way to get me home. God forbid you leave the dealership with your brakes acting that way( while someone else deleted your e-mail) wow what a lawsuit you have on your hands.

go to your local news channel. they love stuff like this. Have them go out and interview the dealer. Then find a new dealer for shure!!

Just make shure you document everything. I would have driven this truck through their showroom floor window and left it there. Oops the brakes that you checked out fine, must have failed.

I too had a Lemon F-150 which had bad brakes and actually caused an accident. Pulling in my driveway, the truck decided to meet my garage after trying to stop and the peddle went to the floor. Needless to say, Ford brought it back a few weeks later without me loosing one penny, and gave me back all my payments.

a dealer does not help you get rid of Lemons, you need to contact an Attorney and see what they can do about a Lemon law. Ford will also pay for Attorney fees if you win the case.
