Redesign in 2009?

I was just browsing the web and found this site - http://www.intellichoice.com/future/future/year/2009 . Im not exactly sure where or when I was told but I always thought that Ford wasnt making a new F150 untill 2010 but the site claims it will be in 2009. In that case its not as far from now as it may seem, just over 2 more years and alot earlier than that by the time we would see a concept. I thought it was kind of interesting.

It also shows that in '09 the Hummer H1 will be redesigned but didn't that model just recently get the plug pulled. I don't know how accurate it's industry resources are.

It also says:
2007 Ford F-150
New Hemi-caliber V-8 launches with the F-150 and will spread to other trucks and even cars in the Ford portfolio. Still in development, this 6.2-liter engine will produce around 350 horsepower.
This is the only place I have heard of this for 2007...so I think its pretty doubtful.

I like this one:
2009 Ford Ranger
Redesign. Finally. Current model engineering dates back to the early '90s.

It doesn't surprise me that Ford is redesigning for '09. I think that we are supposed to redesign the Titan for '09 as well, but these dates get changed all of the time.

It also says "2008 Ford F-150: V-6 diesel engine to become available."

Ford already has a V6 diesel available in the LCF (low cab forward) There has been rumbling about putting the same engine in the F-150 and Expedition for a while now, who knows if it will happen.

I dont think 09 is as much as a ground up re-do as it is a major facelift.

Just like the 05+ Super Dutys are new I expect to see a F-150 with a more bold front end and other details changed. I would think the total redo is in 2011 or 12.

The thing with the ranger.... I have a 97 ranger which looks just like a 93 ranger. If I wanted to, I can bolt a 06 ranger front end on it. Got to love that while changing alot of the truck most of it can be swapped from the last 13 years of production. Honestly, most everything from the 83+ trucks can be used on the trucks up to 97. All they did in 93 was toss a new body on.

I herd that ford invested 1.2 Billion into haveing a new Ranger at the turn of the decade. It will be designed in aussie and will be sold worldwide kinda like the current one is.

Sounds about right. The last F150 (97' - 03') was 7 year model cycle. The current F150 from 04' on to reach a similar 7 year model cycle would be a 2010 model year.

So that would mean the new generation of F150 would come out in late 2010 as an 2011. But considering the level of competition out there, I can see Ford putting out the next generation of F150 a year earlier, like say 2009 as an 2010.

You might seen a redesign sooner than previous years. Ford said that by 2008 they were reducing the average age of its vehicle fleet from 4.4 years to 3.2 years. Go Ford.

It's really from the early 80's.
