Have you downloaded the newest version? I read that there was a version 13-14 (I think) that had the AMPG reading way off. Download 18a, and it should be alot closer to actual, it may still be off, but closer.

Anybody else notice that the ampg only averages it over about 5 min. I can be getting 15 mpg, then pull my trailer 10 miles and be getting only 10, unhitch and jump right back up the 15, doesnt make any sense.

I mentioned this earlier but, when I take my foot of the gas the IMPG goes to 30 which then throws off the AMPG

My speedomenter shows I am running about 4 miles faster than the evolution shows. Both should get there info from the same place right? So which is more accurate? I have also noticed that the ampg seems to jump quickly and reset itself. I got back from a 300 mile trip where I was getting 17.8 mpg. Next morning within 2 miles of conservative driving it showed 14.5. I didn't pay attention to what it said when I started the truck though.

Yes both the Edge and in dash speedos get their info from the PCM, the reason for the differance is the spring on the needle in the dash. What I have done is I took my GPS out and played around with the tire dia. until I go the dash unit reading the same as the GPS, for me I had to lower the dia. number 145mm.

As for the AMPG changing numbers really fast, I noticed the same thing. I start the truck up and before I have backed out of my driveway (only 120ft) is has already dropped .3-.4 mpg.

Yea i really wish edge would change the way AMPG is caculated..

It seems like they are getting the AMPG just sampling the IMPG readout every couple of seconds and averaging it.

Where as a more accurate method would be to take the mile driven and divide it by the gallons used. This is how the Lariat message center does it, so that data is avaible for edge to use.

PLEASE PLEASE EDGE PLEASE?

Ya professor, i just put mine in last night. I am running level 3 with premium and loving it. I checked out the AMPG today. I don't believe it calculates it from the IMPG. It seems right to me.

What fuel do yall run at level 3?

On level 3 with custom tuning I ran 93 oct. There was a differance for me between lvl2-3. Not as big as stock-lvl2. But still a differance, I would still be running lvl3, but I have been having to pull trailers so much in the past 2 months that I got sick and tired of switching back and forth between the programs so now I am running lvl2 with custom tuning. One thing is that I was getting about 1-1.5mpg better with lvl3 timing+1 and 93oct, than I am getting now with lvl2 timing +1 and 89oct.
