Thinking of upgrading

So Im thinking of trading my truck into Galpin ford and get a new 2006 F150, dont know yet if it will be lariat 4x4 or just fx4. I want to get the 4x4 and then pretty much keep the truck until it finally dies.

I want to go to galpin because they already have a bunch of modded trucks on their lot. Im curious though, I havent been there in like 2 years, right after I bought my truck, can you wheel and deal on dealer modded trucks more or less then un modded.

I would rather tie everything (like prob lift/tires / navi) all into one payment.

Any ideas on that?

the local dealer around here markups their lifted trucks A LOT!! There are like 50K F150s out in front of the lot. I think they are more for attraction purposes and they dont really intend people to buy them but you definitly can. Id say it would be much cheaper to buy one stock and do your own mods.

Here in Houston all truck makers dealerships have lots full of lifted trucks. I know for my next truck ti depends on what they're charging. If its decent I'll purchase mine already lifted.

Yup, mark up on dealer lifted trucks is HORRIBLE and usually they won't deal that much. Just a , I was able to get my truck for $27,000! It really doesn't matter, Lariat 4WD or FX4 its the same damn thing pretty much. Im looking forward to seeing what you get!! Good luck bro, you won't regret it!

Go for it Joe I say buy the FX4( I'm not biased or anything) and do what you want with it, unless your just wanting to finance the lift and everything. I saw a truck on my local lot that was VERY similar to Dave's truck and they wanted 46k for it .

Edited to add: You can always deal, there isn't any reason you wouldn't be able to talk em down, even on a customized truck.

yea, Im hoping that galpin will be able to drop more then a smaller dealership so I will try and check it out next weekend. ( just remember when I was there and bought this truck they didnt have the price adjustments on the trucks they modded, hopefully they changed that idea )

Im still havent decided scab/screw or whether all white or dark shadow grey...either one will have pretty much all options.

You might try Citrus Ford in Ontario. They are a very nice dealership, pretty big, and they usually have some customized stuff on the lot.
I bought at Power Ford in OC, because they were by far the cheapest, but I have warranty and service work done at Citrus, because they are a better shop.

I bought mine last year for 27k and some change (listed at 38k and some change). The dealer I got it at does a lot of lifted trucks. They only had ProComp lifts with spacers, weld wheels, 35x17x12.5 tires, etc. for a $6500 or $8500 markup (can't remember which). I told them I wanted Fabtech, DL's, Fox, Moto 951's, 35x18x13.5 tires, etc. We then started haggling the cost of the mods....I ended up getting all of it for $4500. Total of $31,500.

Kinda sucked though...I brought my truck in after the work got done on it for some alarm work and they had 4 offers from customers to buy it in 1 day. So, the custom vehicle manager copied my truck (a little) basically the wheel combo and started selling the trucks like hotcakes. Sold 7 in one week and then asked me if I had any other wheel combo ideas. I gave him some AE wheel number and told him I was tired of seeing my truck around town. This was a year ago though.

Anyway, I think it depends on how bad they want to sell you a truck.

How much did they sell you the fabtech + Dl's & foxes for? 4500 is a great deal if you ask me, then again I dont' know what your tire/wheel combo went for. I bought my stuff for around 5200 if I can remember right. If that price is including installation I'm bewildered.

Good luck with your truck Joe, if you do a lift and all. Do what bry has done and just ask what they'll give you for everything installed, then ask them to take away from the installation. That is crazy cheap, for some drink & pizza I'll help you with the install and I'm sure many others will for that as well. I'd really like to see a lifted 4wd Harley (if they have them).

That aint bad at all, back on oct 03 when I got it, it was just a few hundred below invoice. So like 29k sticker about 34.

I could def go for a nice lifted truck, Ill try not to copy, but that would be like the same payments for me now anyways so to get a brand new truck/lifted and under warranty again I would be STOKED! Plus I would toss in a retrax or something along those lines

So I dont look like a fool what does DL's stand for/do?

Well like I said Ill check it out this weekend, plus they normally have a bunch with custom fab body stuff too.

Dirt Logic (trademark anodized blue struts), I know you've seen mine out @ Pismo. I wish they'd have anodized the blue painted coils, those look like crap (might as well painted them black, which I've contemplated doing). I am sure flex/stress does not work well with an anodized coat but whats the difference between paint and going anodized. I'd say it's the sexiest component of the lift, how does the anodized process lift and what would it cost to do this to the rear shocks? Probably going to need to start a new thread for this.

Are you really considering going lifted or is it just a thought as of right now. Find out what they'll charge ya and let us know. Bry should reply by then. Bry, are you heading to Pismo this time?

The $4500 was for the Fabtech, DL's, Fox w/ reservoirs, moto 951's, 35x13.5x18 ProComp Xterrains, Carriage Works grille, window ecthing, aftermarket alarm everything installed. I think the rims went for about $250 each and the tires are about $350-$400 each.

Josiah...I don't know for sure...but can steel (springs) be anodized...I thought just aluminum...but what do I know? lol

Also, I'm going to Pismo. I'm trying to see about renting a travel trailer. My wife and kids might be going. My 14yr daughter will be in Michigan, but my 11yr old will be taking his little Raptor 80 (he hasn't ridden for a while now). My 22 month old son might be coming as well with the wife. Won't stop me from having fun though...they'll be off doing their thing in the sand & water.

I'm trying to talk to he wife in letting me get the Rize lift with Kings (all the way around) and new 37" tires before I go up there. Not sure if it's going to work though.

Josiah - want to install a Rize 8" for some pizza and "drinks"? lol

In my opinion mod your own. I bought my F-150 4x4 xlt with the 5.4 triton 3valve V8 that was marked at 35,000 and got them down too 22,000 and had mine modded at a local shop here for 2,600. I had the 2.5 daystar lift in the front, the 1.5 addleaf in the rear on 18x10 mt with 6inches of backspacing with 33x13 terra grapplers and the superchip flashpack installed. So all together i spent 24,600 on my truck and i am very happy with it,and u spend alot less!
