Intake Opinions

I know this has been talked about before and i did search the forums, but i couldn't find an answer to my specific question. I need a new intake because my previous one is damaged (dont ask how). I am looking for one that is guarenteed to give me no problems like pinging or running lean. I know from experience that the K&N are quality made;however, they seem to not be well liked in the f-150 community. The airaid system seems to look nice and provide nice gains, but im not so sure on reliability. Which would you recomend, the stock intake, K&N, or Airaid and why?

How???

Aside from minor fitment issues that I was able to clear up in a few minutes, I've had no problems with AF1 after it was on the truck. I need to clean the filter next week...

KC-10 FE out...

Then you want the stocker.

I don't use an aftermarket intake setup, so I can't really comment about who's is better and why. But I have read a lot of threads on here about various brands causing check engine lights with lean codes, and I've read a lot of threads on here about people who haven't had a lick of problems out of whatever brand air intake kit they chose. They all seem to be kinda hit and miss; if you're looking for the most reliable setup though, the stocker is it. No, you aren't gonna make as much power as a freer flowing aftermarket setup, but you'll know 110% sure that you won't have any lean codes or pinging problems either.

I have the K&N 77series and I love it! I had pinging but once I installed my edge EVO it went away. I love it, and it make the engine come alive with sound! Its awesome.

I really enjoy the JLT intake coupled with the SCT tune package. I picked up 30hp/50 tq via the dyno with that package.

I like my Airaid, I picked up some SOTP power, only problem is a bit of engine noise and it had a drone around 1800-2000 RPM when coupled with the Edge. After the exhaust I don't hear it anymore, mainly because the exhaust is louder lol.

As for CEL's, none, no problems at all.
