04 f150 high beams

Hello, I am having some problems with my 2004 F150 high beams. The high beams do not function at all yet the indicator on the dash works. I have checked all the fuses and relays mentioned in the owners manual to no avail. I have also noticed that the fog lights do not come back on when using the flash to pass, they simply turn off and stay off and have to be turned back on by pushing the switch in and out. This leads me to believe that it is something other than 2 burnt out filaments when the low beams work fine. The fog light relay checks out good as well. Does anyone have any advice on this?

Thanks,
Chris

A test light is your friend. Start at the bulb bases, and work the problem back upstream. Are the relays getting the power to the constant and trigger? Is the output functioning?

do you have DRLs?

silly question, but the DRLs run on reduced wattage high beams. They could very well be burnt out.

nope, and im almost sure thats not the problem since the fog lights dont turn back on after using flash to pass, im thinking relays, but dont know what others to check other than the main fog light and high beam relay.

I was driving in the country 2 nite to the lake. I had my brights on. A car was coming and then when I turned my brights off, but only the foglights were on. I turned the brights back on and brights were cool. Then I turned them off again with only the foglights on. I did it one more time and then the normal lights worked. I tried to replicate the problem but was unable to. Its brand new with 150 miles. Has this happened to anybody? I hope its just a little gremlin that shows up almost never.
