Question Component Crossover Location 2005 F150

Hey Everyone,
I posted this in the speakers forum, but not too much going on over there so I thought I'd give the 04-06 people the opportunity to weigh in...

For those of you that have put components in...where did you place the crossover. I have a set of Polk audio components for the front doors. Have you placed them in the doors? or the kick panels? or maybe someplace else?

Any help is much appreciated...I am planning on doing the install in the next week and a half.

I put mine in the armrest under the power window switches. It fits there perfectly and is water tight.

Just pop the cover off by pulling it straight up and you will see there is plenty of room there.

with the audiophile thats where they put them in at the factory.
With my upgraded speakers I made a custom mount near the same location and they are there.

Just a to anyone about to tackle this install, some crossovers may be too big to mount there.

This is true....but in that case sometimes the plastic case the crossover is in is the problem and since more times than not thats just for looks you maybe able to take the plastic cover off and make it fit.

Some people throw the crossover boxes in the trash and simply tune the speakers off the amp. You've got to dedicate one channel to each mid and tweeter, but what the heck...

just a thought.
