A few questions...

I've got a substantial amount of money saved up for some spending. So I'm spending it on the truck. My questions are..

What is needed to convert from crank windows, manual locks, and manual mirrors to power windows, power door locks, and power mirrors? (I know it's broad and I know what's basically needed, but I want to have some knowledge of what I'm looking for when I go into Ford and get a price listing.)

Are there any special computer items needed? (IE. The 2006 CLS55 AMG has a seperate computer for windows and locks. I'm wondering if there's any sensors that lock the doors once I'm going a certain speed.)

Will I be able to keep my windows? I've got them tinted and I really don't like getting them re-tinted.

What are the two sensors on the intake used for? I ask this cause I'm possibly taking on the task to make my own intake for my truck and I need to know if I need bungs put in the tube.

What is the chrome accent on our hoods made out of? Plastic or metal?

One last one, anyone want to trade chrome bumpers for painted bumpers? I don't care what color they are, I want to rid myself of them.

Search using "ChrisAdams" as your search and most of your answers should be answered. He has done this and is very helpful with others who want to do it too. Good luck.

I have performed each of these mods on my 2005 XL 4 X 4. I orginally installed universal power windows, then changed to the OEM regulator/motor units at a cost of $90.00 per side. You will not change the glass to do this upgrade.

For the power door locks, I purchased a universal set and AutoMate remotes. This cost about $50.00.

The power mirror heads came of eBay. They were brand new heads and cost $50.00 per side. I used a switch I pulled from and old Taurus at a junk yard.

Pictures of the finished product for each of these mods, and many others are in my gallery.

Good Luck and e-mail me if you have any questions.
