Spacer question

There has been recent discussion regarding the use of leveling kit spacers along with an aftermarket lift.

Here's my question:

If one were to buy a set of aftermarket coilovers (Kings, Donahoe Racing, Fox, etc...) and REMOVE the spacer that came with the lift kit (ProComp, Fabtech, whatever) could a leveling kit spacer be used with the aftermarket coil to achieve the same 6" lift as the original lift kit WITHOUT cranking the shocks too much???

Basically, I'm trying to find a solution to getting the same height as my current ProComp kit by utilitizing an aftermarket shock. i've seen what it feels like when you remove the lift spacer and attempt to crank the shocks too high (horrible ride)...

Thanks all!

Im confused.

If you get new coilovers, you won't need the original spacer that came with the Procomp kit because it'll give you just that much lift unless you order longer ones.

Do you already have the aftermarket coilovers? Or you looking to go bigger and keep a softer ride?
