Can anyone get the lightning software to update? I've been trying for 3 days and I keep getting "Unable to locate a valid version file".

 

Actually, I just downloaded the new software last night.

I had the same exact problem a few months back. My problem was Norton Internet Security.

If you have any sort of firewall program running in the background, the software won't be able to connect to the server. Try disabling your anti-virus program for 15 minutes while you run the Edge software.

 

Thanks for the advice. I disabled my Norton Antivirus and still no dice. I don't have any 3rd party firewall software. I made sure that Windows firewall was disabled as well. I even bypassed my router/firewall physically.

 

Try downloading it directly instead of updating it. I remember a problem with one of the software versions doing this.

Dont forget to reinstall the USB drivers if you do this.

Did you return the truck back to stock?

 

Their entire site is currently down. Is there an update, later than 4/5/06?

*edit* My weird system/service was only letting me through to a few of my most visited sites. I restarted my router, and there are no updates past 4/5/06

 

No, not yet. I'm just trying to upgrade the firmware version so the AMPG works properly.

Do you need to return the truck to stock? The main main problem here is that the update program keeps telling me it can't hit the server.

Does anyone know a manual way to get the update. I found a URL in the registry and it gives a 404 when I try it.

I almost feeling like just driving up there.. Edge is in Ogden and I'm just south of Salt Lake, it would take me like 90 mins to get there....

 

That would be the problem them. You have to return the truck to stock before running any updates to the device.
