Removing the dash around the headlight switch?

How do I remove the dash piece surrounding the headlight switch? It's an 06 XLT, I searched and found some instructions, none of them specified 06 F-150's, and they had me turn the headlights on, pull the switch off, turn it 180*, put it back on, etc. Didn't seem to work. I turned the headlights on but the switch didn't come off too easily, and I didn't want to force it without knowing for sure this was how it was done. Oh, and I don't have foglights.

Thanks for the help.

Are you trying to remove the switch or the dash?

Those four sections of the dash are built into the truck and cannot be removed.

put a flat head screwdriver in the gap on the drivers side, and pull straight out on it, and it will pop out...

On my 06 Lariat, I just reached up behind it and the little panel with the headlight switch and dimmer contro; poped right out. Dont know if its a different switch in the xlt.
