Prototype controller from Edge that ties into an Evolution controller with selectable RPM/TPS engagement and a wet 100 HP NOS system with the tank stored in the bed and the lines run through the drain plugs to the undercarriage. What are you looking for answers wise?

Josiah, a Tivo is a digital video recorder, like a hybrid of a computer and a VCR that you can use to record programs, pause and rewind live tv, etc.

Thats the answer I was looking for. I missed the show but my friend told me all about it. I am gonna give Edge a call in the morning for an estimated release date. What is TPS? Throttle position?

Yup, TPS is the throttle position sensor.

I've seen the explosive results of nitrous firsthand at the track, poor ricer.

It depends on a lot of factors. Useage, size of the shot you are using, etc. You could get by on a stock engine like the 5.4L 3V with 100 HP shot, in a wet system (dry shot I wouldn't go over 50) and be fine for quite awhile. On the other hand, go grab a 250HP kit, with the stock plugs/injectors and running pump gas and you could have a mess on your hands. As always, all good things in moderation.

I seriously think he's joking. As young as he is he must be tech savvy enough to know what TIVO is. I mean it's been out for close to ten years. My grandpa has probably heard of TIVO and knows what it does.

Anyhow, back on topic...I missed the Trucks! episode (no TIVO here, heh). I have no interest in installing Nawz, but it's nice to know Edge is still developing some stuff that will work with their current product without outdating it only six months after it's release.

With one exception for an LT-1 Impalla SS, everyone I know that has ran nitrous, has broke their engine, or drivetrain.

On a side note, without trying to hijack this thread, can anyone stand the meathead on TRUCKS! that talks like a pro wrestler? I wish Stacey and his mullet were still on the show.

OK, I talked to Arron at Edge and got this. The nitrous controller should be out in about 3 months and will cost about $450. This does not include a nitrous system, it just controls one. He also said it is fine for the engine if used in moderation like Nick was saying.

I have sprayed several vehicles (91 Vette, 93 Vette, 97 Ram SS/T, 97 SHO (just once but it loved it!) and my 98 Camaro SS) and as stated above if its used conservatively and properly (with correct amounts of fuel) you will be fine. IMO its less stress to spray a car on occasion than it is to run a SC all the time. The Edge controller should make it just that much safer on our trucks. I assume it will monitor the TPS and only allow NO2 at WOT...which is very important, and will shut off the NO2 in the event of a fuel pressure drop or before the rev limiter or speed limiter comes into play.

Speaking of the rev limiter and NO2....they make a terrible combo. Back in the late 90s I had a good friend with a Dodge Ram Indy Pace Truck that was extremely quick. He had cam, heads and every bolt on on the market for it plus a 150HP dry shot. He put some short slicks on it one night to help lower the gears....well it worked and he hit the rev limiter in drive while spraying. That cut the fuel back and BOOM...instantly blew both head gaskets and cracked both heads. Had he had a controller other than a little red button that probably wouldn't have happened.
