Thumbs up JLT Intake/SCT Combo Review

Ok a short review of the JLT intake/SCT Tuner Combo. I was waiting a while until I said anything to see if any issues would come up. So far so good! I really like the sound of this intake and there is no drone or part throttle vibe like my other intake. This intake truly sounds like a old Quadra jet carb. I previously had the Superchips 1714/Airaid intake setup and would highly recommend the JLT over my old setup. As far as installation goes I had to re-drill the heat shield so it would bolt down slightly forward of its old position. It was easy to install and it took me all of 25 minutes. I had a issue as I had given Jusnes Modified the wrong computer code, But it was quickly resolved by them even though it was not there mistake. I am very happy with Jusnes and Bama Chips as far as there customer service goes. My gas mileage has gone up slightly “ .5 MPG” and the performance of my truck is awesome. I have had no check engine lights so far and logged just about 500 miles so far. I have been paying attention to my intake temps and they are about a average of 5 degrees higher than they were with the Airaid. However the truck runs and sounds much better and like I said gets better mileage.

I too have been keeping an eye on this setup, and coming from the mustang world JLT is world class stuff, what about the performance side of it much better than your old setup? Did they change anything with shift firmness or anything of that nature? You should post some pics of the setup, or maybe a little how to.

They will load the tuner with your choice of tunes, I picked 87 perf/93 tow/93 perf. There is a dramatic improvement in the performance even on the 87 octane tune. Yes the performance is better than a 1714/airaid setup. The shift firmness is improved and is adjustable. The price was $585.00 for the whole intake/tuner setup. Heres a link:

Dont know what kind of power the edge gives you but personally it was worth it to me just to have a intake that doesnt drone and irritate me. Overall it does have more power than my previous setup and I would imagine it is right there with the edge or a troyer SCT. Makes me wonder if someone could come up with a better tune file for this intake. I dont say that because im not happy with what I have but because every little bit helps.

After making my last post I realized there was another thread about this intake and it is very interesting to read.

I am still happy with the way this setup makes my truck run. It was and is a big difference over my old setup.

Any more reviews of this set up? I'm thinking of ordering, but I was hoping for a few more reviews.

Hello...newb here.

I just bought my '06 Black/Black SCrew Lariat yesterday. I love it!

But, my love for performance mods have taken over already. I just talked with Doug at Bama Chips and placed my order for this JLT kit. So, when I get it , I'll also post my review of it, if it will help.
