??? for KICK *** FX4

How does your truck ride on and off road? Saw your gallery and it looks awesome!!!! I want to get the same set up maybe with the dirt logics. I have the same truck but its white and grey. The only thing is that I have a set of MT baja claws that are 33s and they have a lot of tread left. So I guess I will be running them with the six inch for a while. Hopefully it wont look that bad. I already have the 4.56 gears but I am not going to put them in until I take it to get lifted.

Thanks for the compliment .
On-road:
Tires- It rides excellent as far as noise goes on road. They are very quiet compared to other trucks I have heard coming down the street. I have heard the Toyos are one of the quietest MT tires.
Suspension- The suspension is a little stiff but I like it like it like that. Its not any better than the stock fx4 susupension but that is how offroad suspension is supose to feel. Turning radius sucks but it also did before it was lifted. I am sure the dirlogics will give you a better ride as well but the fabtech stock ones are fine.
Performance- SUCKS without a tuner. You will definitly need a tuner expecially if you want to correct the speedo but it also improves your performance TREMENDOUSLY. Those gears will definitly help you out.

Off-road:
Tires- They are allright offroad. I went to pismo beach last weekend and at first they were excellent and I hadn't come close to getting stuck awhile. Then I did get stuck going uphil in pretty thick sand and snapped my driveshaft so I have not 4x4. It was a pain to get out and I wasnt gripping that well but I am not sure if that is just because of the think sand or since I didnt have 4x4. but overally they perform well in the dirt. Upgrading those 33s to 35s will definitly help you out.
Suspension- Great. flexes pretty well offroad. Again, those dirt logics will improve this as well.
Performance- pretty much same as onroad.

Thanks for the reply. Most of the time when I mess around its in the sand also. (It doesnt rain much in South Texas) Have you ever thought about about getting traction bars. A buddy told me that they would help with the rear end hopping when you are towing something in soft sand or trying to get somebody out. Heard anything about that or have any experience?

I actually have a video of 02SuperCrew4X rear end hopping like crazy but he isnt lifted. I think Josiahs truck was hopping as well when he was pulling out my truck. I have thought about getting the traction bars. Another $260 mod on my list

I hope I wasn't hopping but I don't recall, maybe someone can chime in that was there. These 37's weigh a ton, definitely have the ability to snap parts if it was hopping. I'm sitting on a 5" fabtech block along with Dave and I don't ever recall having hop (not calling you a liar, my collection of certain events at Pismo is haizy, bad memory). I agree with what Dave said, the tuner never fails to please. I'm sitting on 37's with factory 3.73's, great performance. I averaged 19mpg on the way home from Pismo. I can also still run down a ricer every now and then. If I could I'd change my gears to around 4.30's (don't believe they're available for the diffs we have) but I do too much highway driving to justify a 4.56-4.88 gear ratio. bhf150 has a procharger making 370rwhp or so and he's running 4.88's, on near stock tires. The gearing did not feel too high but his rpms at highway speeds are pretty bad he says.

Wheres the video?

02SuperCrew4X

. . were you in 2wd or 4wd when you were getting axle wrap? I've never experienced any axle wrap in 4wd in both of my trucks, only 2wd.

I believe 4WD. I think it was when I was pulling someone across the soft *** sand. And I am not sure if it was axle wrap or not. It was more theo short wheelbase of the truck, and it was hopping. I don't know! Let's see the video...

God damnit I hate Putfile! Something on my PC makes it skip-skip-skip-skip until it plays through one time. Then it plays normally. But what the hell, sweet video.
