what is going on?

New issue but minor in nature, When I Start up the truck, the little box in the instrument cluster tell s me to check gauges, stays on for five to ten seconds than turns off...Previously this has never happened, abs light wrench, air bag, ect and all other dash warning lights come on than go off as per normal....

And I run down the battery again listning to tunes, but it was my fault as I did not have the key on acess, I had turned on all the way, day time running lights were on for a good hour and a half, what ever happend to turning the key back for acess power instead of the two forward chioces?

My co worker purchassed a uesd 04 sc Fx4 It is a realy nice truck, more power and rides better than my 04, His 373 ltd slip mine 355 ltd slip.... any ways I hope you don't buy my F-150 From a Calgary Dodge dealer, I will post the 04 Vin....one you should aviod..once my new ride is in..

Thank you...

I was having idle problems, right before it would die I would see the same message appear. Finally last week it did the same thing, but this time ran like crap and i turned the ignition off, last thing i saw on the display was "check guages". The engine light stayed on and "finally" Ford service replaced the throttle body. Now all is good.

Could explain why the truck is running like a half dead horse, idles fine, just pings like a gress hopper trapped inside a pot with a lid on when driving up inclines, or backing up on rough roads...June 7 New truck arrives June 8 F-150is out of my life and I'm way into debt now... The 04 began running really bad after I changed the Fram air filter to a Fram air filter, that was less than 5000 KM ago.

"The Fram Air filter to a Fram Air filter?
Mine was built 7/03, all in all: new front rotors, rebuilt rear end, new throttle body, new tail light lens, and a few other things. It never seemed to idle right, the last episode the engine light remained on, so ford finally tracked it down to the throttle body. If they didn't I was ready to trade mine in as well.
