I hate to do it, but I got to ask
Back from work.. Looks like a confusin subject. ALl I know was on our 03 trucks and his 06, is that you hit the key fob lock once and it locks(and honks once), then when you hit the unlock it honks twice. We try to be quiet for our neighbors since we have some funny hours and always getting in/out of the truck. Anyone know?
Roushlimited, lemme clear this up. Yours is an AFTERMARKET Audiovox alarm. It is fully integrated with the factory remotes, and they will both lock the truck and arm the alarm when the "Lock" button is pressed. On the 04+ from the factory there is no "alarm" per se. What is being described as the doors locking with one push and the horn sounding once with the second push is completely normal function for these trucks, as well as many other Ford vehicles. I have no alarm installed on my Focus, and it does the same thing. Hit the button once, the doors lock. Hit it again, it chirps once. When you unlock it, it does not chirp at all, just unlocks the doors and turns on the interior light. Make sense?
Ford Powercode alarms also work that way, but it is a choice. You can set it for silent, no chirp no matter how many times you hit it, chirp on second press, and chirp on any press.
It has nothing to do with the alarm setting or doors unlocking. The chirp on second press is if it is noisy and you can't see the lights the second press chirp just makes sure you know you hit it.
I have had mine set on all three settings at one time or another. Chirp on every press cuts down on the unneeded second pressing in parking lots.

Press the lock button once - Doors lock, no horn chirp
Press the button twice - Horn chirps once to let you know that the doors are closed and locked. If the horn chirps twice it means that one of your doors is not closed.
There is no difference between pressing it once and twice. The second press is only for audible verification that the doors are closed and locked. If your F-150 does something different than this then there is something disabled, dealer installed, or aftermarket installed. BTW the Ford accessory alarms are not installed at the factory, they are installed at the dealer and most use a remote that says Ford on it so don't think just because it says Ford on your remote that there is nothing installed post-factory.

Thanks Chris I figured it had to be something like that since it was so different from everybody else on here.

We bought all these new from the dealer, we didnt add anything. There was an easy disable horn chirp for the old trucks that worked, so was just wondering if there is any for the new 06s.
