Hard decision: F150 Lariat or FX4?
Ok. Here is where the "major modification" quote comes in. We knew that there is no locker for the 04 f150 rear axle. So we went out and swapped my rear axle to a Currie Dana 60 rear end. Its has the Dana 60 Detriot locker 35 spline carrier. It took us about the weekend to do this, thanks to my buddies shop. We had to weld the shock mounts and leaf mounts on because they dont weld them on from Currie. It was a pain in the **** but its worth it.

I've got an '05 FX4 and dig it. It's my daily driver, rides pretty damn nice on the highway. I liked the gauge cluster a bit more than the Lariat, however I like the Lariats info center. In reality, I should have probably gone the Lariat route, but I thought they were probably out of my price range.
I love the sunroof in mine, that thing is open as long as it isn't raining. I guess the easy way to do it is just figure out what options you want and which truck has them. Hell they are the same body/chassis so everything else is just icing.

I am still waiting on UPS to bring my camera. I ordered a D50 from ebay and it is taking forever. I tried taking some with my camera phone and it just looks stock. The only thing that looks really different on my truck is the little switch in my dash to activate the locker. The stock 5.4 9.75 rear end looks just about exact to the axle I have on my truck now. Except for the diff cover which has cooling fins on it. Thats it.

I've got a Screw Lariat and I have the FX4 offroad package added to it and I wouldn't change a thing. Don't get me wrong, the FX4 is also a nice truck, but why downgrade model and add options when you could "OFFROAD-acise" a Lariat. I don't mind the King Ranch, but it's a bit too luxury for me right now. The Lariat is right in the middle.
Lariat all the way. No brainer.
