What to do.....What to do.......

I have been going back and forth with the idea of either just doing a leveling kit or going all out with a lift. If I did the leveling I would just leave the stock tires and stock 20 inch wheels. If I do the lift I want to run 37 x 13.50 Toyo MT on new 20 inch wheels. From talking to the guys at CST Suspension, it sounds like these tires would be too wide for their lift. What draws me to this lift is the fact that I can get it for $2500 along with a K&N intake and a throttle body spacer(all brand new). I know they make a great kit but I really don't want to have to run 12.5 wide tires. They seem way to skinny. I know a body lift would solve everything, but I would rather not go that route. If I could hear from someone with or knows someone with a CST running tires this size it would be great. I really can't stand rubbing and want to know if this is possible. It is just so tempting with the lift for such a good price. So could this work?

Thanks,
Cannon

Wow bro that's a pretty big difference in funds as well... I say if you've got the money go for the gold and get the lift. I think you'd be pretty happy with the new look and feel of the truck. Soon as I get the cash I'll be lifting as well but it's just not in the budget right now.

Oh ya... throttle body spacers suck and aren't worth the price of their packaging. It's like wiping before you take a dump it just don't make sense

Go with the lift. Thats a great deal. Im runnin 12.5" tires and they are fine. Im sure they will look great on your truck even if you get the 37s. Its more about backspacing that might make it look weird.

Ya I know they are completly different options, but I can afford the lift. The truck I just sold had 35 x 12.50s on it and I really want something wider.

What do you mean about the backspacing looking weird?? Having them stick out too far?

It will look funny if you have 37" tires jammed in your wheel well. I think 12.5" wide tires are fine you just need to make sure your wheels have a good enough backspacing to make your truck have a good stance.

I don't believe the CST widens your stance with spacers, so they tuck in more than Fabtechs. Thats would justify why they want you to use 12.5" tires. I rub bad with 37x13.5's, I had some lug damage at Pismo from this but not too bad. I think you should be fine with 13.5's, 37'sx12.5 would look skinny and if you're going for functionality, perform poor. Look in their kit and see if they have cv spacers (in the instructions).

I know I want the lift more, but I just want it all to fit right if I do. Cst says I can fit a 37 x 12.50 with 5 inches of backspacing and an 8.5 inch wide wheel.

Now here is what I think might work. Procomp 20 x 9 Series 6001 with 4.5 inches of backspacing with 37 x 13.50 Toyo MTs.

Hey Josiah, what backspacing are you running?

One more thing...
The guy selling the lift bought it in mid 2004 when they first came out. He never saved up for tires, wheels, etc., and is trading the truck in so he is selling the lift. Have there been any changes to our trucks since 2004 that would affect the lift fitting right? I know it needs different brake lines, but is that it?

Maybe this won't work then.
Oh well I might give it a try.
