Air blows warm...

Gotta bring it in for another oil change, thought I'd check on here before I mention to the dealer.

Air seems to blow warm (similiar to vent temps) when accelerating quicker then normal. Recirculate is on, and temp is on 60.. so Not sure why the warm air.

Anyone else experience this? Is this normal?

I had a similiar problem on my '98 and it was a refrigerant leak. Tell the dealer to check it.

If you go above a certain throttle percentage, the compressor kicks off for max power. IDK how much you are accelerating but that is a possible problem, however unless you just keep accelerating it shouldn't be long enough to make the vents get hot that fast. Even if the compressor turns off, there should be another good 20 seconds or more of flow before the refrigerant can equalize and start blowing hot. I'd say it is undercharged based on that.

I have the EXACT same problem in my 05. It seems like days under 80 the a/c will blow colder, but im in texas and those days are hard to come by. Mine seems just not to get cold at all.

My 04 is the same way and my dealer told me it was within ford specs have read that the compressor is too small for these new trucks and ford isn't likely to do a thing about it.

If you haven't checked/had it checked already, I'd see if the A/C compressor is running. I've seen a bunch of trucks recently with poor connections to the A/C relay in the auxillary junction box on the driver's side of the engine compartment. If this checks okay, and the compressor is running or short cycling on and off, I'd guess you have a refrigerant leak.

Just an update: Stealership says everything checked out OK, everything within specs. They discharged and recharged entire system and says they can't find anything wrong.

Still does it though.

I believe there's some information floating around about the 2007's having a better air conditioning system. The post about it being undersized is probably correct. I noticed this weekend when it was 92 that I had to run the fan speed higher than the auto setting runs it at to feel comfortable, and I noticed slightly warmer air when accelerating.

I just got back about ten minutes ago from having my AC fixed. What happened to mine was the high pressure line was rubbing against a bracket and finally wore right through the aluminum line.
