Tire shop - Need Quote Opinion
Hey guys...well i stoped by the tire shop to get a price quote on some 33inch toyo mt and he quoted $330 which seemed a little high. He said he could get them in 3-4weeks. He also said they would slow down my truck due to weight and the thickness of the tread. He said i wouldnt get that many miles out of them. Is he making a good point or bs? thanks

Mine just came in today. Finally after 5 months on back order. I got them for 275 each. I was originally quoted 300 each but I beat him down to 275. Now I am just waiting for the wheels to come in. Should be 2-3 more weeks.
I had to go to the tire shop just to look at the tires and they are k****ss! pretty heavy though.

You probably will lose a slight amount of performance, but I dont think your gonna care. You have a 5.4 with 33" tires... I have a 4.6 with 35" tires. I can live with my performance loss and its a lot more than yours is gonna be. I dont really think its gonna be that noticeable though.

Toyo Open Country M/Ts are pretty light considering how heavy the Nitto MGs are and they wear pretty damn good. I don't know what he was talking about, you're only going up 1" in overall diamter. Its not going to kill you.
hes making a killling if you pay 330/tire i got my toyo mt's 33x12.5R18 for 248/tire mounted& balanced. ive got 14000 miles on mine so far, and there is still just barely under 1/2" of tread left... weight wise, bs as thump said, they are super light for mts- every now and again, i'll turn em over, so i call bs on the 'slow you down' part too.

I should have mentioned. Mine are 275 for 33x1250x20. 18's should be even cheaper. Good luck
which is awesome for an mt if you ask me- you're gonna like em when you get them thump- they're great tires really- i can go up the mountain at 50 mph on dirt and gravel, and never once lose the back end on a corner-
