I wonder what the differance is between the 4x4 and 4x2 kit? If I already have the 2 inch blocks taken out of the rear could I just order the 4x2 kit? Are the coils the same for both?

i think the 4x4 is a different kit its 4 in in the back instead of 4.5. i read in a book that its a flip kit with shackles in the back. mine is a whole new leaf spring pack. im not positive so dont quote me

From what I have been reading the 4x4 kit comes with a new leaf pack now.
So thats why i was asking if the 4x4 block is already removed then essentially you will be a the same height in the rear as a 2WD correct? Sooooo get the 4x2 kit to get your 4.5 drop in the rear? Si? No?
I guess when i get home i could always call and ask them directly. If my rear blocks have been removed and the front coils are the same w/ both kits then i just may order the 4x2 kit. I will go with shorter shocks since the stockers suck and I wont have to use the extenders.

You should go to DJM Suspension website and check out the 3 different lower control arms they offer for the 4x4's. I opted for the 2" drop set.
Very straight forward and simple installation if you have the proper tools and a lift available to you.
After removing the Autosprings from my '04 Screw 4x4, I removed the rear block, installed 2" drop shackles, had the rear springs de-arched an additional 1", and installed the 2" drop DJM lower control arms in the front. Final drop was a 2"/5". I am running 285/70/17's on a 17"x9" rim so my wheel wells are pretty full ( what I had hoped for) without any rubbing issues. The truck absolutely rides like a dream. I will be posting some pics of it now that the rain has finally stopped and I will be cleaning it up tomorrow..It cost me a little over $500.00 to complete the above modification.Worth every $$$.

Thanks for the info. I had DJM 2' drop a arms with hangers and shackles on my 03 Lightning (see gallery).I liked the a-arms over the stockers and retained my factory coils but I was about maxed out with the alignment and I dont think my guy lubed the poly bushings because it would squeek on the driver side, especially in colder weather. Good quality kits though.

Yeah I am really leaning towards there kit. I have not read any negative feedback from guys that have used there kits and for the price and drop i am looking for without slamming the thing. I dont want to have to crawl over speedbumps you know. Seems like just what I need.
Is there a big differance in the stiffness of the front springs over your stockers?

I just need to figure out which shocks i want to go with. Belltech, DJM or something else. I need to research that more.

I had the ground force suspension under mine, the 2.5/4.5. Rode well, not as good as stock, but that was probably more because of my tire/rim combo than anything.
