Satellite Tuner Install

I haven't seen anyone install like this, so I thought I'd post what I did in case anyone else wants to do the same.

I installed my SIRIUS satellite tuner where the 12V plug was. I don't really use the plug, plus there's an extra on the back of my center console in case I really need one.

Here are some pics:

I really like that set up. You should definitely put the antennae under the hood cowl though.

I didn't think about that... do you have it that way?
How's your reception?

I have it that way on my truck and the reception is exactly the same and I don't have to see the ugly antennae. There is a metal lip under the hood cowl where it sits on. Took me about 10 minutes to put it there. Definitely the way to go.

I tried that but couldn't get the cable across the headliner. What's the trick?

Ill take some pics when I get home.
But unscrew third light and feed cable through hole, inside the cab in the back middle of headliner (easy to reach inside if you have sliding rear window) pull cable inside of cab.

I ran the cable along headliner on driver side, using a key to push it under rubber stripping and headliner.

Down the rubber stripping by drivers column and under the steering dash into the radio section. You dont even see it.

And I still had like another 2 feet of cable, softly tied it up ( twist tie ) and good its on suction cup on front window.

It actually came with the car adapter for the Clarion receiver.
The part that attaches where the 12v adapter used to be was actually square, so I trimmed it with my dremmel to make it sit flush down in the hole.

When you pull out the 12V adapter, there is a ring that the 12V adapter snaps into. I drilled holes in it and screwed the bracket into it.

I'm sure there are many brackets out there that could be modified to fit this way. Good luck!
