Foam rippled seat

Here is a strange one...Just yesterday I noticed on my drivers side captains chair, the fabric near the edge of the seat on the side was all bumpy looking. I felt of it, and its not the fabric that is messed up, but it feels like the foam underneath the fabric has become rippled, or wrinkled kinda. I have no idea what would have caused this. I press on it, and they bumps dont go away. Should I take it in? Its under warranty still I think, I have an 05' XLT with 25K miles on it. I hope this makes sense.

Sounds like the foam is coming apart and wadding up into little ***** under the seat cover. Take to the dealer and see if they will replace it, they should.

Pic of wrinkled foam seat

Here is a pic of what I was talking about...you can see the 2 large wrinkles that are towards the bottom of the photo. I am taking it in to the dealership tomorrow I think...

I had a similar problem, check my gallery for pics. The dealer replaced the cover but I think it's the foam too. It is a little better buy not mutch. I'm thinking of taking it back in. Please post what your dealer does or tells you.
thanks,

I noticed it on mine over the weekend. Seemed to smooth back out after it sat for a while.

Mine doesn't even have 6 thousand miles on it yet.. so I figure this is going to be a problem at some point.

I hate the seats in these trucks. The fabric stains when there's nothing more than water on them.

Same here, 6400 miles. Scotch Guard helped a little but smells like hell Im just going to do the leather upgrade when the kids seats come out.

I am pretty sure it's from dragging your butt across the seat when you get in because you are too short. If it was lower like a car you wouldn't see that because you are sitting straight down. I don't have running boards on my truck so i sit on the edge and slide in and that's the effect.

Mine is like that too.

It's from sliding your *** off and down the side of the seat when you get out, over and over.

I think its clear why its happening but why is this a problem so soon. I dont drive my truck every day and 3k miles was on a road trip. My truck is 11 month old, this problem shouldnt start for atleast 35-40k miles.

Back from dealership

Alright...calm down everyone. Here is the verdict from the dealership, as they have started to see this more and more. The seat cover has areas with padded backing sewn to the underside. These help create the shape of the seat panels. Apparently these pads are sewn on to the underside of the seat cover and have a tendency to come unsewn. They ordered me a new seat cover, (a few days to get the part) and said all will be replaced free of charge. My truck has 26K on it. That was never even questioned. So looks like all will be well. I just hope this isnt a constant problem.

Glad to see the dealer is going to take care of it.
