first oil change done.

I did the first oil change on my 2006 with a 4.6l. It seem however everything I do turns into a big ordeal....... First went to walmart to gather supplies (i.e. oil and filter) they had the filter but only 4 qt of oil........tried two more places no luck with carrying the brand I was looking for..........Got to Autozone ask the guy to look up oil filter number ( to check my self). Go through to whole spill and then ask me standard or metric threads.......WHAT....... Any ideas?????? I did go with the motorcraft filter and oil (cost more there). Then get home drain oil and get my 4 yr old to help ( my little helper ). Can't find my filter wrench............ugh.....back to store to buy one...........

Just thought I would share.........

LOL, I sooooooo know that feeling. The best part for me is that I moved from AZ to CA and now live in an apartment that doesn't allow any work to be done on a vehicle, so I have to drive out to the side street to do it. Man, it's amazing how many times I have been half way through something and had to walk back to my place to get the tools. Thanks for sharing, and who the heck is that gorilla at Ford man? That thing was on like it had Lock Tite in it, lol!

the filter was not that hard to get off. Just hard to get a hand on it. I think they only used the 400lb gorillia on my filter.

I second that. I pulled an F'ing muscle trying to take my oil filter off the first time. I had to put fresh oil in the engine with the old filter still on and go to the quick lube and give them $5 to take it off. Pissed me off!
