Headers installed

Ok after 9 hours and a lot of cussing I have my pace setter long tubes installed. I will get installed pictures when I am at the muffler shop getting the rest of the exhaust on later today.

New system

Now this is not a task for the faint hearted...... Well it took me 3.5 hours to get the old system off, most of that time was to remove the passenger side exhaust manifold. Why the offset the engine to the passenger side is beyond me but it causes a lot of problems. You have to use a wrench to get two of the exhaust bolts out no place to fit a rachet. I am 6'4" so I am not small so I had to remove the battery and tray to get enough space for my big arms in there. driver side all I had to do was remove the steering linkage at the rack and just move it out to get one bolt out. other than this it was pretty strait forward.

So now that the old is out wife made me dinner . Ok so after that little break I tackle the passenger side first, hearing that it was usually more difficult. Difficult was an understatement. I had to remove the starter, take the three bolts off the engine side of the motor mount then jack the motor up an inch. Even with all this I had to muscle the thing in there. once in then I lowered the motor back down and started installing the header bolts. I had to lengthen the front O2 sensor to reach the new location and after 2.5 hrs the passenger side was done. Driver side went together with no problems at all.

I slipped on the cats to the collectors and button everything up to give it a test fire(would of done the open header thing but at 11:30 I might of made a couple people upset). All I can say is dang it sounded like open headers WITH the cats on cant wait to hear the maggie and side exit.

Fit and finish- overall fit is good but I do have two close spots I may have to dent a little on the passenger side, finish is great with the ceramic coat except the passenger side is a little scrapped up from shoehorning it in. Would I installed headers again on these new body style - Noppers so lets hope I see good gains with the long tubes.

I wonder if they'll allow me to only buy the drivers side for half the price, I wouldnt want to bother with the other side.

I'm interested in the Long tube gains, so let us know.

they bent all of the pipe. Performance so far I notice a quicker throttle response. Havent had a chance to take her out on the main roads, waiting for kids to get out of school then I will take her for a test drive.

Who's high flow cats? Magnaflow?

Looks great, get us a sound clip.

I had Kooks LT headers, custom mid and x-pipes with maggie mufflers and high flows on my 02 Harley. I miss the loud exhaust and need to do true duals on the new ride.

GET A SOUND CLIP!!

I can't decide whether or not I should do an X-Pipe or H-Pipe with my True Duals?

X-pipe > H-pipe, but either is better than none. Nice looking LT setup. I'm wondering about the quality since they cost about $800 or so less than the Dynatech's. Is that a 14" Maggie muffler or an 11"?

*edit* Nevermind just saw it was the 11". Make us a sound clip!
