bed noise

not a big deal been dealing with it for long time just seems to be getting worse. I have the rattle or a loud squeak almost like bolts are rubbing or something when ever i hit a bump and since ive had my truck its been doing it just first year was barely noticeable, and now with windows down very loud and annoying sounds like im driving a 72 f150 not an 2004? any ideas on how to correct this or if anyone else has noticed this. im not a picky person why its taking me this long to say anything but just dont want it to get any worse. and for the record the noise was from the begining even before my first mod (cat back flowmaster 40 series). so im kinda clueless as to what to do, but only problem is the dealership gave me the rung around when i first got my truck and i brought it up and dont wanna have to hear them when they see it now lifted and they are gonna blame my mods of course. guess i can have the neighbors kid hang on to the driveshaft as i go over he speedbump and hear exactly wheres its comnig from, jk

I dont know how much off roading your truck sees by I had an old ranger I put through the ringer that did that. I gave the leaf springs a good coating of wd40 every once and a while. Seemed to fix it for a couple months.

Maybe try that?

If you had a body lift installed you may want to retorque the bolts that hold the bed on.

How do the leaf spring U-bolts feel? I put my ladder bars on and some of the U-Bolt nuts were really loose that hold the leaf springs to the axle.

Good luck. Let us know what you find.

defintely check the tail gate. I had a high pitch chatter when going over rough roads and it was the tail gate latches. I place a light shot of WD and it was gone.

Mine has the same squeek, it is definatly the leaf springs, Wd40 works, but it won't work for long ( since it's actually not a lubricant ).

I've been trying different lubricants for a while the best so far is the stuff made from wool wax, it's nice and thick.
