Too late, did it the old way so that the PIE is hardwired into the cig lighter. And by the way, the PIE DOES work with factory satellite equipped trucks. It's just that you have to stop the input source (iPod) before you turn on the factory sirius. I am glad to find that out. I am a little mad though that I didnt get the power seat I thought I got. Oh well....

How do you "turn on" the Factory Sirius Rcvr. I hit the Aux button, and it is there. Do you have both a AUX and a SAT button ? I only have the AUX button, but that is a pre Factory installed order date, and I got the Visteon unit to install.

Did you put the PIE inline with the CAN buss interface from the factory Sirius rcvr ?

Do you have the media button on the steering wheel ? If so, that only does SAT 1- SAT 2 - SAT -3 on mine, what are the options on yours ?

Just a few questions, PIE.net says it is a no go situation, just wondering how the functionality is on your install, in case it comes up again ( and I am sure it will ).

Thanks

BTW : When I had my PIE interface installed with the Starmate Replay, I did the same thing, direct power to the cigar lighter, as that was removed for the Starmate mounting location.

When I say "turn on" I mean press the AUX button. If I press it once, it says PIE, one more time it says CRYSTL-LINE, and then SAT 1,2,3. If it is on either PIE or CRYSTL-LINE it works fine with the iPod. If I leave the iPod playing and switch to a Sirius channel, it plays the iPod sound still. However, if I stp the iPod and then switch to AUX1, 2, or3... it works with the Sirius. Yes, I have the PIE mounted inline on the CAN-BUS. I just disconnected the 12 pin data (RSE) port, and re-connected it to the PIE, and then plugged the PIE into the HU. Works fine for my liking....

Sounds perfect for me, but looking at the PIE products I found the "PIE FRD04-AUX 2004-2006 Ford CAN-Bus Auxiliary Input Converter", which refers to a 16-pin RSE port. If that's the same unit you installed, then I'm buying one, as I also have the sirius option ("AUX" button) on the factory HU/6CD Changer.

Hey 02SuperCrew4X . I was wondering what head unit you have and which adapter. The pie tech guys tell me the x-3 adapter is the only way to still use the satellite. Any info would help.
Thanks

Hi hendershot,
I can confirm the PIE FRD04-AUX unit does, indeed, work with the factory 2006 6CD/SAT HU. I went ahead and wired the PIE to contant power via the accessory plug.

Since installing, I've let my initial sirius subscription expire: that company expects far too much money for that service. Even so, I occasionally cycle through the AUX modes, just to see it ask me to call 1-800-whatever
