Yeah same here man, 06' with the chrome package and these wheels will not hold up to the severe brake dust these pads produce. Next in line for me is a new set of pads to protect these wheels that I have to clean every few days. Although I have noticed that with time, the dust is not as bad.

I bought some of those dust shields a few months ago. Never installed them, I just live with the dust until I get around to changing the pads. I was always concerned about the brakes overheating causing rotor warp.

Back at my parents' place in WV, it's very mountainy. My brakes heat up very bad when I'm driving back there. I usually drop the truck into 2 gear to get the tranny to help hold back, but the breaks still get hot. That kept me away from putting the dust shields on.

I looked at the Porterfields site, did you guy's get the R4-S brake pads? I also have the brake shields on my truck. I love how they keep the dust off the wheels but don't like how they look......

Yes the R4-S. This is the guy to buy them from, he is cheaper than getting them direct from Porterfield: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/FREE-...spagenameZWDVW

I replaced the fronts when my truck only had 1k miles on it. I now have 18k miles on the truck and pads are holding up great.

My rear OEM pads were fine and not dusting/squeaking. However, they were nearly wore out after 16k miles, and I went ahead and ordered the rear Porterfields from that same guy. So far the rears have been great too with no dust or squeeks.

Any help is appreciated...

Steve and anyone else who only replaced the fronts with Porterfields and left the rear stock...anyone have any issue with the rears grabbing too much? Didn't happen every stop and it seems to have gone away, but every once in awhile the rears really grabbed. Dunno, now the rears just squeal after heating up. Just wondering if it's a break in thing or just me. I get no dust out of the rear and the squeal isn't bad enough (YET) to replace them.
