Possible problem with my 06 or with Edge?
I was cut off today on the way home from work, changed lanes and floored it in order to salute the genius driving the Hyundai Santa Fe. My truck downshifted, hit the rev limiter, and instead of shifting up, just kept bouncing on the rev limiter until I pulled my foot out. After the RPMs dropped, I got back into it and the truck drove fine. Anyone have any ideas or the same experience? Any input would be helpful and I thank you ahead of time. This is the first time this has happened and everything was fine driving normally the rest of the way home. Thanks guys.
Performance MODs:
True Flow CAI
Magnaflow duals
Edge running level 2 (only changed tire size)

Were you still under acceleration when you hit the rev limiter? The truck cuts spark when you hit the limiter and won't stop until the rpm's go down.
It doesn't sound like you have a problem, if you want you could change the rev limiter with the edge .

Like roushelimited said...bump your rev limiter up a couple hundred RPMs. Mine did the same thing when I updated my Edge software last time. I think the factory set rev limiter kicks in right at the shift point and screws things up.
BTW it scared the hell out of me too!

Yes, I was accelerating, thanks for the quick reply. I used to have the rev limiter raised, but unloaded the program and didn't bother when I reloaded the program. This would really suck if this happened if I decided to race someone. Thanks again, I guess I will raise my rev limits back up a little over 5k
Yeah, more than likely its what these guys have said, mine done the same thing when I only have the rev limiter set at about 75-110 over my shift point. So set it a bit higher (200 rpm or so) and see if it goes away. I believe that my 1-2 and 2-3 shift points are set at 5250 and 3-4 shift point is at 4900, and a rev limiter set at 5600.

Or you could be like me, my truck has always hit the rev limiter on a WOT upshift. For me it does not matter where the rev limiter is set I still hit it. I have gone as far to set my rev limiter 1k above the shift point, no dice. One of the last updates helped some. Now I only hit the limiter once or twice before the truck shifts.
