Throttle Body Spacers..

what is the truth about these? I think i remember someone saying they dont work on here. But I just read in a mag that they actually work in the Low end torque range. Anyone have one on and how you like them?

They will only show a benefit on engines with throttle body fuel injection. Our trucks have direct injection. therefore the TB spacers dont help.

Because people will buy them. Why else would the Tornado be on the market?

They do and they don't work, depending on application. What they do is increase plenum volume in you intake manifold, when your volume is close to optimum, you will see little or no improvement. But if your plenum volume is too small, you will benifit from installing a T.B.S. Almost all O.E.M. intake manifolds are on the small side for plemun volume, they do this to maintain a strong vacuum signal.

Those are some big words there!

It would really seem to me, given the TB spacer's construction, that there would be a small gain seen. The air, due to a higher pressure, would help the engine's air to fuel ratio, thus helping a cleaner burn.

What may be the case here is that some may not really FEEL the difference, and some do. It's funny how performance mods are that way. Some say the same thing about exhaust.

Does anyone have dyno proven or track proven results? I had a TB spacer on my GMC 6.0 liter, and as far as I could tell, it just made my truck sound like it had a turbo (kinda cool though!).

well i dont know about the application to ours trucks.....but my friend Carter just recently put one on his Jeep Cherokee and before it he couldnt spin his wheels cause his torque just bounced him around...and for some reason now....he can spin his tires....not for that long....but hes able to now..

he said he has an increase of more in the low-mid range...more towards the low end. and he says the noise sounds really cool from the cabin.
