Lightning Concept at the Atlanta Int. Autoshow
I am going to the Autoshow in ATL tomorrow and was just looking through the list of concept cars on display and saw that there will be a Lightning Concept on display. I will try to find out as much info as I can on it and get some good pics of it.
Here is the pic they have on the website...I think its an older one:

Yes thats an older picture. Very interested in what you turn up. I posted a video of a GT500 media event, and i got flamed b.c i pointed out that in the video the guy says SVT isnt dead, they just went through alot of changes.
He even mentioned then working on an svt truck, so we will see.
you can click on my created threads to see the GT500 video.

I read on one of the press releases that svt was done and the gt was the last official svt car. It also said the mustang GT500 was going to be available to all ford dealers. I would guess that, with the decline in car sales svt dealers didn't want to have to order as many cars anymore, but to keep the line successful/profitable ford had to build a large quantity. The only way to sell that many is to open it up to all dealers. They already did this with the gt. Its funny how chrysler followed fords idea of specialty cars and offered them to all dealers, and they sell a bunch. That maybe the way ford has to go as well. I was holding out trading my girlfriends explr for the adrenaline and was pissed when they cut it, but maybe theres new hope.

Yeah I never understould why they only let certain dealers sell SVTs. On top of that I was told a dealer had to pay $40K to be an SVT dealer. Why not make your money selling cars to people that want to buy them?
At anyrate the fact that they would have the L Concept at the show is interesting....I mean if it is really dead why bring it out?????

I also thought SVT was dead after reading this awhile back:

Who knows, never say never. One interesting thing on that pic is the gray headlights. I recall asinatra mentioning those being available "in the future".
Hopefully (double edge sword cause we'll have to see them on the road) if Dodge can put up good sales numbers with their specialty brand it will inspire Ford to reorganize the SVT team and get new models out to market.
