Lights turn on when Doors unlocked

When I unlock my truck when it is dark or nearly dark the headlights turn on. Is there any way to turn that off so the light won't come on when I unlock the truck?

I think there my be a way to do it in the owners manual. I can't look it up though cause I'm in Korea and my truck is at home in Seattle. I'm probly wrong about that anyways.

There's a way to do it beacuse I accidentally did when trying to disable my auto locks. Should be in the manual.

I believe ther is a way to do it listed in the manual. You can download a fre manual in PDF format from www.motorcraftservice.com in the owners section.

Thanks I think I found how to do it. I will try when I get home. I am wanting to turn that feature off because I am planning on doing an HID retro and don't want the bulbs to ingnite and turn off like that.

Yup, turned mine off when I went HID. If HID Bulbs werent so bank, its definately nice lighting up a parking lot or something when you disable.

I believe that if your lights are in the Auto position, they will turn on when you unlock the truck. Check that first...

Ok I got home and checked out my truck autolamp delay on the message center (I have a lariat) and I set autolamp delay to 0 sec...but they still light up when I unlock the door. Am I in the wrong place to turn it off? And my headlight switch is in the off position
