Body Lift..

I was at the shop that I got my exhaust done at today to get a bracket rewelded that came unravelled (don't ask ??).. The guy that owns the place has a 2WD XLT and we were talking lifts.

He mentioned that they install the body lifts, and he quoted me 4 days labor to install one. He mentioned that the bed has to be completely removed, and portions of the cabin as well? Does this sound right?

I didn't even ask for the labor quote... I want a more aggressive stance, but not sure if this is worth it..

Thoughts?

body lifts are a great way to add a more aggressive look and a minor lift....great for the ones who are on a budget with mods.....and just doesnt have the use of a new suspension lift...or the money.....some people say they suck and are a waste and look cheap.....but get the gap guards and noone will really know the difference....90% of the people wont be able to tell....they will all ask what suspension lift you have....happens to my friend all the time....

the installation sounds right to me....of course i dont know about body lift installations nor ever had one (getting one in a few days though) but it sounds correct because that is in fact what a body lift does.

4 days labor? That sounds crazy to me.
Lets just say...
4 days x 8 hrs/day = 32hrs x $40/hr labor? (low est) = $1,280
If that's the case then I'd tell him to stuff it. That doesn't even include the price of the body lift itself.
I don't know what that guy considers a full day of labor though?
I'd get some more estimates.

For 12hundred bucks you might as well just get a leveling kit and an AAL and sit about the same height plus tires for just the installation he quoted you. IF I could do it all over I'd go with some new shocks, daystar kit, and an AAL.

I have the AS 2".. and it's level..

If labor is anything over $300 or 400, it won't be worth it to me. I'd rather just spend that much more and get the fabtech 6".. It's just that I have 2WD and just want the look, don't need the function.
