Seatbelt Reminder

How many people have disabled the seatbelt reminder? I disabled mine and it is very nice. Its not that i dont wear my seatbelt, but sometimes i just dont have it on yet and that annoying beeper starts sounding. I hated that!

look in your manual it tells you how. I did mine and I think when you turn the key on wait for the seatbelt light to go out then buckle and unbuckle your seatbelt 9 times and i think the light will re-appear then do it once more and your set. Dont quote me on this but it goes something like that

It is in your owners manual and it requires you to click and unclick the seatbelt like nine times. You have to read it and remember how it goes because you only have like a minute to complete the process. Kind of reminded me of a chineese fire drill. LOL

I disabled my seat belt reminder as soon as I got my truck. I wear my seat belt religiously when I'm out driving, but there's nothing more annoying than having to go down the street half a block and listen to that damn thing dinging away!

I also disabled the "automatic door lock" feature -- I'll lock the damn doors when I want them locked, thank you!

I disabled it on the first day.

Those noises annoy me just like an alarm clock does when you hear it during the day.

I also wear my belt all the time.

It took me four tries B4 I got the damn thing turned off.

Best "mod" I ever made.

I always wear my seatbelt, but some of my friends won't. I disabled the passenger seat only since they won't put it on no matter what I say or how annoying that chime gets. It's very easy to do if you read the manual.

Interesting, I had not even thought about disabling this little anoying thing, but it would be nice. I live about 6 blocks from my parents and sister and it would be good for the quick trips over there.

Since you guys all know this, how about letting the back passengers in an SCrew just pull on the door handle and have the door un-lock automatically? We don't have kids, so we don't need the child safety thing and I tried to fix it using the things on the sides of the door, but it didn't work. Is this related to the auto door-lock function, cause I wouldn't mind turning that off too.

On my truck, i just pulled the little wire sensor clip apart. Its directly under the seat, just unclipped it. And that way if i need to sell the truck, or something, i can still have it "turned back on"

And as far as the back seat thing, not that i know of. Its set up that they can either let them selves out after unlock, or the child tab locked, means you have to unlock then let them out from the outside.

I do wonder if there is a way to convert the actual lock mechanism, or move it to where it can do as you describe, where they act like front doors....

I disabled mine...

I typically wear my seatbelt during daily driving, but there are times I don't want it on. When I'm crusing down the beach, at 10 mph, I don't want it on; when I'm messing around out in the woods I don't want it on either.

I want to wear my seatbelt when I want to wear it... I don't need some stupid chime telling me to put it on!!!

I stopped on my way home the day I picked up my new truck to disable mine. I don't always wear my seatbelt and it was getting to be a headache listening to the reminder all the time.
