High idle

As some of you have noticed I'm new on the board and just bought an 06 Ford scab. Mine it seems, when I go to fire it up, the engine idle seems to very high and then takes a while to idle down. More so than my 02 Ford scab with the same engine the 4.6
Is this an issue that anyone else has?
Thanks

my 05 5.4 scab does the same thing, up to about 1500 rpm then sloooowly back down to normal. I thought it was just a ford thing, is it not normal though??? mine has done it since day 1....

If the engine is cold, it'll be on fast idle. That's normal, helps light the catalytic converters off faster.

Thanks. It's just my new '06 holds the idle for a lot longer and comes down slower than my '02 did that I traded in. They must have made a change and just made it idle higher and for a longer period of time. No biggie just wondering if this was normal.
