What's with trucks with lowered rear ends?

This cracks me up...Im from Cali and Im not into that look...better known as the "California Lift". The funny thing is I have seen that advertised in some 4x4 Magazines

..."California Style Lifts Available"

I was laughing when I saw that. One of my buddies here is that type of person...he tried convincing me to do it, but I just done like it. Id rather have it leveled or slightly higher in the rear still.

We do have off-road type areas...but majority of the folks I know around where I live go to the Sand Dunes...where that look is almost normal.

as previously mentioned, the fix is to make your girlfriend ride in the back.

Well chit, you're all going to hate me now. I am going to be riding around like that for a while...and the best part...I could give 2 chits about the stance, as long as I stop rubbing for once

I will eventually throw a leafpack under there and possibly do the body lift, we'll see. I'm attending a mod party from FTW next month I think and I should probably buy what I need before then. Would be a fun group project and a lot less stress.

Pretty funny!!! To bad my girls not fat you as$.

To people that want to have a normal conversation, if you live in the Orange county, San Diego or riverside area that look is completley normal. Its weird to see a level truck or even what we call "stink bug" truck around here. LIke i said earlier, its all choice, i personally dont care its your truck you pay the bill not me.

I never really cared for that look myself. Around here in FL it's not that common, so the trucks that ride around like that look they got a half-assed lift or have some busted leaf springs. But just like said before... whatever floats your boat. I think it's goofy looking myself.

Yea, it's called bulldog
And if you're not sure why than maybe this will help, lol.

Personally I love the look, however I think the f-150 that was posted here was a tad too low in the back. It looks a lot better if the truck is lifted higher too. I'd like to see our trucks with the 7.5" sitting bulldog.

I'm not too into the off road scene, but most of my buddies that are have their trucks lifted a few inches higher in the front than in the back. When I asked why, I was told it was to save the fron end while they were off roading. I guess if your front end takes a hell of a beating, anything you can do to help it is worth it. Even if it doesn't look right.

I would never want my truck to look like that, which is the very reason I am debating a 2" or 2.5", I am scared it will "bulldog." Not only do I think it looks ridiculous, I can't even remember the last time I saw one here in Texas.

Well you could always get a bigger block or add a leaf in the back.
And I HIGHLY doubt you will notice a differene of a half an inch.

Ok, So I am from Palm Springs area, a couple hours from Glamis Dunes... I have SO many friends with that junk on their trucks I cant stand it. Now, I understand the reason why it looks that way, on the real thing, but I have friends who go way outta their way to make the front LOOK as big as possible, for no reason. One friend in particular (Well Ill just get it outta the way hes on the board ) has a 2.5" Autospring with a Fabtech Coilover of some sort bolted in their together on his new F150... To make the front big, and the back smaller. So, I stick my head in the wheelwell a day or two ago and the ball joint is like totally at the far end of its travel and is basically resting on the springs. He doesnt care because it makes it look "cool." He got that truck like 2 weeks after I got mine and I dont think I would ride in it as is.

Ive got a few friends who had perfectly good trucks and part by part have ripped the things up to make it a prerunner. They buy em new, and reduce the value of these trucks so fast... Prerunner seems to mean a gutted truck that you have to tow to the dunes with another truck, most parts are duct taped, and is underpowered and dont run right, but since it looks like such a POS, nobody cares. Not my thing.

Touchet!

If the pre runner is what californians or floridians want, why not just buy a legitimate pre runner. The guys that actually own real off road race trucks don't have pre runner look alikes. Their personal trucks are normal looking.

I understand the purpose of having it that way, but the reverse rake does look odd. I hope the rest of the country doesn't catch on, unless they're hauling a load of dirt.
