Edge Display Problem?

Current Edge users...I've got the first production run of the Evolution II. Manufacture date of 12/20/2005. I've got a question. I got into my truck after work (it was 94 degrees outside) and noticed the display was a little darker than normal. Any fellow f150iers in warmer temps notice their display a little darker? It looks normal around the edges. I even tried to use the arrows to lighten the display but to not avail.

Does this look normal?

*caution...picture taken with a crappy camera phone.

From what I understand very cold and hot weather will effect the screen but should return back to normal after it gets back to operating temp.

Have you downloaded the lastest update? I noticed the screen color was different after the download.

Yep...updated to latest release. Yesterday was our first really warm day (broke a record). It's suspose to be hotter today. I'll see what happens. I can run home afterwork and get my digital camera and take a picture and send it to edge. I just want to make sure I'm not going crazy.

Pretty common problem with those type of displays. My sattelite radio does the same thing. If I know I will be parked in direct sunlight, I will usually throw something over it to shade it. If you do a search, I believe someone else had this same problem.

I read TiCal's post about when it was cold outside. I just wasn't sure if this was suspose to be happening around 90 degrees outside. Guess this is what I get for driving a black pickup and having the Edge sitting in a black pod.

Mine did the same thing yesterday, it was up in the 90's. The screen returned to normal after a little while.

I haven't noticed a problem yet, but I have changed the color of my screen to a light blue. I don't think that would make a difference though. It was in the upper 80's last week and today is supposed to be 88 deg.

yep exactly what other people have said. It should go back to normal when the temp eases up. Try turning on the AC. It happens to my satelite radio all the time.

My edge does the same thing. I just pop it out of the pod and turn the A/C vent up to cool it down. Returns to normal in a couple of minutes.

Mine does the same thing, but the display area is some what darker than the outside edge even after it cools off. FX4-Guy, what about that Little Rock weather, mid 90's in April? We could be in for an extra hot summer this year.

Yea this mid 90 degree weather in April sucks. If this keeps up and we don't get much rain, I'm going to be S.O.L on floating the buffalo this summer. It's also going to be tricky toying around on the lakes with them being low. I think Greers Ferry is something like 10 foot below normal.

Mine display is doing the exact same thing. I brought it in last night and the liquid crystals were still darker than the rest of the screen this morning. Oh well, not worried about it anymore.

I know this is a little off topic but what is real hot for a TFT? Sorry for derailing the thread slightly.
